Ready to Discuss Your VW Transporter?

Send Storm Poptops WSM your van details and tell us what you want from your pop-top. We will help confirm the available options and explain the next steps.

How do I get a price?

Use the quote form or contact us with your van’s details and the specification you are considering.

How long will the installation take?

We will confirm the expected fitting time and booking arrangements when preparing your quote.

Can I add solar panels?

Options depend on the roof and installation. Discuss your solar requirements with us before ordering.

Can you fit a roof to a van that is already converted?

Possibly, depending on the existing conversion and vehicle condition. Tell us what has already been fitted so we can assess the requirements.

Can you fit a pop-top to my VW Transporter?

Send us the model, year, wheelbase and roof details so we can check compatibility.

How does it clear the door?

Unless ordered from factory, a sliding door extender will be required which enables the door to clear the flare.

What vehicles do they fit?

SPRINTER MWB & LWB CRAFTER PRE 2017 MWB & LWB CRAFTER POST 2017 MWB ONLY What are the dimensions? SPRINTER SIZE 690X1623X703 CRAFTER SIZE 590X1500X640

Yes we do. Please contact us for more information.

Are the flares colour coded?

We can colour code if the flares are being supplied and fitted. If supply only, the flares come in Mercedes white or candy white .

How much height does a STORM PopTop add to my vehicle?

Installing a STORM PopTop to your vehicle adds only 55mm to its height.

What are STORM Pop-Tops canvases made from?

Odyssey is a 100% Polyester Coated Fabric that has a clear coating on the inside and is non reversible. It has good strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to abrasion, water, UV and mildew.

Can you supply just the roof so I can fit myself?

Unfortunately not; we only offer supply only to our approved trade fitters. You can enquire about our trade services using the form in the main menu.

How much weight will the roof bed take?

Both the single- and bi-fold beds will take two fully grown adults (250kg max).

Whats the difference between the single- and bi-fold beds?

The difference between the two beds are that the bi-fold bed gives you extra head room at the rear of the van.

My van is already converted; can I still have a pop top fitted?

Yes we can; however, we will need to either see the van in person or see photos of the conversion so that we can see what additional work is involved.

What is included in the price of a pop top?

The STORM roof starts at £2795 inc. VAT for a SWB roof. This includes the roof shell, standard canvas in a choice of 18 colours and fitting to your van complete with installation framework. All extras such as scenic canvas, roof beds, mattress, LED lights, carpeting are extras and prices can be found on our price list.

How far from Bristol centre are you?

We are approximately 10 miles from the centre of Bristol and 8 miles from the city of Bath. We recommend downloading the Uber app if you would like to explore either of these cities whilst you are here.

Can you recommend a local hotel?

Yes, we have a Premier Inn (Emersons Green) and Travelodge (Emersons Green) just a few miles away and we are happy to drop you off if needed.

How is the pop top fixed down?

The STORM Roof is fixed down with two cambuckle straps. This system is tried and tested and has been used for over 20 years, giving you complete piece of mind.

How long will you need my van?

This depends on what work you are having done. If you are just having a pop top fitted you can usually collect the following lunchtime. If you are having any electrical or carpeting work done it can be longer. When we book you in we will confirm the collection date.

What time do I need to arrive?

We ask for you to have your van here between 7:30 and 8:00am on the day booked. If this isn’t convenient and you need to drop off at a different time or day, please arrange this at the time of booking as we have limited parking available on site and it’s not always possible.

What is the lead time?

Lead times vary throughout the season so please contact us to find out our current lead time.

What does SWB & LWB mean?

SWB stands for short wheel base and LWB stands for long wheel base. This refers to the length of your van.

My van is my pride and joy will you look after it?

Yes of course, all of our staff are passionate about cars and campers so your vehicle will be treated like it’s our own. Each and every van gets covered with our purpose made cover and seats and steps are also covered. No grinders producing sparks are used to fit our roofs.

Campervan poptop roofs you can count on

Campervan pop-top roofs you can count on

All our roofs are constructed using the vacuum moulding technique, ensuring rigidity throughout its lifetime

State-of-the-art manufacturing techniques

The STORM pop-top roof is manufactured using advanced, modern production techniques, resulting in a strong, precisely finished roof built to a consistently high standard.

Learn about our manufacturing techniques

The shell is made using vacuum infusion. This process ensures that the roof is free from any trapped air pockets which can lead to distortion.

All fixtures and fitting are manufactured from stainless steel and are built into the shell during manufacture, doing away with the need to drill holes through the roof. Our stainless steel high lift hinges are finished with a modern black powder coated finish.

The underside of every Storm roof has a smooth gel coated finish for a sleek factory finish.

The roofs come as standard with a charcoal canvas. This can be upgraded to a scenic version which allows you to unzip and fix the canvas back for that ‘wild camping’ experience. The canvases can (for a small fee) also be upgraded to a choice of alternative colours.

This, combined with our 5-year limited warranty for complete peace of mind, makes the Storm pop-top the leading choice for your motorhome. All in all a well-thought-out campervan roof that stands out from the rest.

Why you should choose us

Creating space

Space can be at a premium in VW T5 and T6 campervans, particularly when extra sleeping or living room is needed. Fitting a pop-top roof provides valuable additional headroom and creates a more flexible interior, with extra space for relaxing, travelling and sleeping.

Storage & views

A pop-top roof can offer more than just extra sleeping space and headroom. It can also make your campervan feel more open and practical, providing additional room for travel essentials while giving you an elevated view of your surroundings when you reach your destination.

Quality & looks

Designed for VW Transporter T5 and T6 campervans, our pop-top roofs combine smart styling, everyday practicality and straightforward operation. We also provide professional pop-top roof installation from our Weston-super-Mare workshop, giving customers across North Somerset and the surrounding area a properly fitted, secure and high-quality conversion.

Why you should choose us

Creating space

It’s a known fact that campers/motorhomes can have limited space, which may prove to be problematic to many owners of VW T5 and T6 campers. However, with the addition of a poptop roof, you can create a more practical and spacious solution for added living and sleeping space, as well as creating a pleasant experience for your passengers.

Storage & views

Poptop roofs don’t just serve this purpose; they can also create ample space for additional storage and supplies needed for your journey, as well as give you fantastic views of your surroundings in your chosen location.

Quality & looks

Our Transporter T5 and T6 pop tops score highly on looks, practicality and ease of use, making them the ideal addition for your camper. We can not only create a securely fitting poptop for your camper, but we can also offer professional installation, so you know the job is getting done right.

The options…

We offer a wide range of interior and exterior customisation options for VW Transporter conversions, allowing you to tailor your campervan to suit your style, practical needs and intended use. Explore some of the available options below, or get in touch with our Weston-super-Mare team for advice on the right setup for your conversion.

Exterior options

Scenic canvas upgrade (£225)

Upgrade the Canvas to have the spectacular Panoramic Zip Opening! This option makes the world of a difference on hot days. You can fully open the canvas and introduce a new viewpoint in the van.

Colour coding (£500)

We can offer exact colour coding from factory to the pop-top lid. The benefit is the finish is now a painted finish and no longer the standard gel coat finish. It also helps if you are looking for the sleek style aesthetic.

Interior options

Single-fold roof bed (SWB £395, LWB £455)

The roof bed comes fully fitted with a carpeted finish and memory foam mattress to ensure comfortable nights. This model has 1 hinge and 1 pair of gas struts. This allows the bed to self elevate with a small push. It will elevate all the way to the top of the pop-top roof. The bed includes a cover panel.

Bi-fold roof bed (SWB £470, LWB £530)

The Bi-Fold Bed Option takes the roof bed a step further by adding another hinge and another set of gas struts to allow the bed to elevate in a cantilever design. This provides a massive increase in head room at the rear of the campervan. As always, maximising the space inside the campervan is of top priority with any layout, therefore we thoroughly recommend this option. The Bi-Fold Bed is made from a High Quality Ply Board and Memory Foam Mattress to ensure comfortable nights. The bed includes a cover panel.

Roof area carpeting (£225)

This option is for those with Campervans that are already converted/carpeted inside. We will trim/carpet the newly installed roof area.

LED downlighting x4 (£200)

Four 12v low-power LEDs in cool white.

We've just had our pop top fitted at Storm Pop Tops... what excellent service! We chose our lining colour and then changed our minds, the lads were very obliging. Pop top colour coded and fitted along with solar panels on the roof and all the wiring for the lights installed..(we weren't ready for the lights yet) ..they've done an excellent job. The pop top is excellent quality and the quality of the finish is great.
For anyone needing to stay overnight there are shepherds huts nextdoor too. They are fab.
Great job done thank you, would definitely recommend!! 😀

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely thrilled with our Storm Poptop! From the first enquiry to final handover, Lee and the team was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The craftsmanship is top-notch—sleek finish, clever design, and everything feels built to last. They took time to understand our needs and delivered a setup that’s both practical and stylish. It’s transformed our van and the kids can’t wait to test it out! Highly recommend Storm Poptops to anyone looking for quality, reliability, and and the perfect poptop

Dropped my van off to have a new pop top (with solar panel) installed on my van. They did a great job, carpeting inside, adding the additional solar components to the already installed electrics, and a great job on the pop top. I had a great handover from them and they answered all my questions. Great communication as well, and they checked in with me as well.
It's worth noting that the van was already converted but was not an issue for them and were happy to do the work.
I highly recommend them and I'm very happy with the product. Thank you.

My T6 van came fitted with a Storm pop-top from new and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Not only does it look good and is well suited to the van, it is well engineered and feels and handles like a quality product. The finish is first class both externally and internally, and the roof has frequently been admired by fellow campers. I recently wanted a minor adjustment to the roof, which Lee and Andy carried out quickly and very professionally. They take an obvious pride in what they do, and I can highly recommend the company and its products.
